Common Areas In Buildings With Suites?

Postby DeanUser » Wed Jun 23, 2010 9:57 am

I am working on an apartment building and have placed devices into my Master Suites and left the other suites with only the suite panel. Can I do the same with the common areas like hallways and vestibules?

Since the CEC and NEC don't allow derating of the common areas in the same manner as the suites, you still need to do all the regular placement and circuiting for your common areas. So hallways, vestibules, and other common areas need to all have devices placed in all instances of them and then be circuited to regular branch circuit panels.
